What is boudoir..?
A boudoir shoot is at once an inward journey and a collaborative experience. Why do we do boudoir? There are all sorts of reasons. Some people want to feel like a star; others want to let their inner lioness roar. For some, it’s a way to learn how to love themselves.
Whatever your reason is, boudoir is for you first. And when you come to Glow Boudoir, you’ll find a safe and fun space to celebrate yourself, explore your independence, express your creativity, or simply take control through the power of intimate photography.
Authentically you
To create stunning photographs, you don’t need you to be anything other than yourself. In fact, the most powerful portraits are the ones where we can see something about who the subject is as a person. When we work together, I’ll put less emphasis on posing, and more emphasis on creating a fun and safe emotional space where you’ll be able to show who you are to the camera. That is my primary goal.

Customised for you
A Glow Boudoir photoshoot is a completely tailored experience. That means we’ll spend some time together before the shoot talking about what you would like to get out of the experience, what style you’d like to go for, what location and outfits to choose, what kind of mood or vibe you’d like to convey in the photographs. All of this will be summarised in a shoot plan that’s unique to you.
Never modelled before?
If you’re worried that you don’t know how to pose, or don’t know how to even dress for a boudoir shoot… don’t worry, I got you! I’ll guide you each step of the way. Starting with our pre-shoot consultation, we’ll talk about what your goals and ambitions are for the shoot, and I’ll make sure you have all the guidance you need to make it happen, from choosing a location to choosing your outfits.
During the shoot I’ll guide you with posing ideas and directions. It’s not as serious as it might sound… there’ll be music and snacks! Creativity flourishes in a relaxed, fun space, where you can be yourself, and find your unique expression. That is what is going to shine through when you or people who know you look at the photos.
Makeup and hair styling
Part of the joy and power of the photographs is that they’ll show you as you are, and the less makeup and styling that you have done, the more powerful that can be. Less is more!
So I encourage you not to go all out on hair and makeup, but of course if that feels right for you then go for it. A hair & makeup stylist is available for you for a fee.
Minimal retouching
I’ll apply a colour style to your photos, and maybe adjust the contrast. If there’s anything temporary you want me to remove, such as bruises or spots, then I’ll do that too.
I believe that doing anything more than that will reduce the impact of the photos, so I won’t do any reshaping or airbrushing. You’ll be truly as you are.
Photos, prints and photo albums
After your shoot there’ll be a number of different ways for you to receive your photographs, and you can make your selection according to your budget.

Hi, I’m Doug
I live in leafy south east London and have been shooting for 32 years. If I’m not shooting boudoir, I’m probably photographing street and landscape scenes in Europe or Asia. I also love surfing (but not in the UK 🥶).
I get a real thrill from helping people who are trying to improve themselves, and that’s why I love boudoir photography. Working with someone who’s nervous about their appearance and helping them find victory over those voices of self-doubt — for me there’s nothing more rewarding than that.
